The San Francisco Giants entered Saturday afternoon looking to build on Friday night's walk-off victory over the Los Angeles Angels . Robbie Ray took the mound after battling through four innings while allowing just one run against the Seattle Mariners in his previous start.
Facing an Angels lineup that has struggled throughout the season and Ryan Johnson , who has endured difficulties of his own, the pitching matchup appeared to favor San Francisco.
That is exactly how it played out.
Ray earned his ninth win of the season as the Giants cruised to a 9-2 victory.
It took a couple of innings for the Giants' offense to get going, but once it did, there was no slowing it down. San Francisco erupted for five runs in the bottom of the third inning.
