Cancel the LeBron James reunion plans with the Miami Heat . The four-time NBA champion and four-time league MVP is taking his talents to Philadelphia, according to ESPN's Shams Charania .
The 41-year-old James has been the talking point of the NBA offseason after the NBA's all-time scoring champion announced he was leaving the Los Angeles Lakers . He spent eight seasons in L.A., beating the Heat in 2020 in the NBA Finals.
Miami was thought to be one of the leading destinations for James after Pat Riley swung one of the summer's biggest blockbuster trades, landing two-time MVP and 2021 NBA champion Giannis Antetokounmpo from the Milwaukee Bucks . Along with Bam Adebayo, James was thought to join up for the latest Big Three on South Beach.
