Governor Dauda Lawal has signed a series of executive orders introducing a new governance framework for Zamfara's education sector as part of efforts to improve standards and strengthen accountability.
The governor also flagged off the distribution of the national curriculum to public schools during a meeting with education stakeholders at the Government House in Gusau.
The reforms cover education financing, school protection, quality assurance, school health services, security, school feeding, student welfare, transportation safety, the Safe Schools initiative, unified examinations, merit-based appointment of school leaders, inclusive education and the promotion of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), as well as digital learning.
