The Memphis Grizzlies and guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope have agreed to a buyout that will allow him to join the Philadelphia 76ers and play with LeBron James, according to an ESPN report on July 25.
Caldwell-Pope intends to sign a one-year, $3.9 million contract with the 76ers, according to the report.
Caldwell-Pope, who was part of a blockbuster trade that sent Desmond Bane to the Orlando Magic in June 2025, played 51 games with the Grizzlies before he was ruled out for the season in mid-February with a pinkie injury that required surgery .
James, who signed a two-year, $8 million deal with the 76ers on July 24, and Caldwell-Pope played together on the Los Angeles Lakers and won an NBA championship in 2020.
Caldwell-Pope, 33, who also won a title with the Denver Nuggets in 2023, had exercised his player option with the Grizzlies in June that was worth $21.6 million. He averaged…
