Contrary to the general consensus, I actually like what the New York Giants did at defensive tackle this offseason.
Yes, they lost Dexter Lawrence, but it's important to remember they traded him for the No. 10 overall pick, which turned out to be offensive lineman Francis Mauigoa. That also followed a 2025 campaign in which Lawrence logged just a half of a sack and eight quarterback hits in the least productive season of his NFL career.
The Giants then went out and signed both DJ Reader and Shelby Harris, a pair of run-stuffing veterans to solve an issue that has plagued New York for years now. They also selected Bobby Jamison-Travis in the sixth round of the NFL Draft, and they picked up a very intriguing undrafted rookie in Anquin Barnes.
That being said, with Reader and Harris both being in their 30s and the two rookies being dart throws, New York will almost certainly need to be…
