Rochester's pitching kept the game within reach, but the offense couldn't generate enough support in a 3-1 loss to Buffalo at Sahlen Field on Saturday night.
Luis Perales allowed two runs on two hits over five innings, walking five and striking out four. The right-hander's biggest setback came in the fourth inning when Je'Von Ward connected on a two-run homer that gave the Bisons a lead they never surrendered. Buffalo added an insurance run in the seventh.
Leandro Pineda provided a bright spot in his Triple-A debut, going 2-for-3 and scoring Rochester's lone run. Pineda singled in the sixth inning, moved into scoring position after Phillip Glasser drew a walk and later scored on Brady House's sacrifice fly.
