The Philadelphia 76ers did not take long to add former Georgia Bulldogs basketball guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope after signing forward LeBron James. The 76ers have limited cap space after signing James and trading for guard Jaylen Brown this summer.
Philadelphia is planning to sign Caldwell-Pope to a one-year, $3.9 million deal after he clears waivers. The Memphis Grizzlies agreed to a buyout with Caldwell-Pope.
Caldwell-Pope had a disappointing 2025-2026 season with Memphis. The Grizzlies struggled to win games and Caldwell-Pope had surgery on his pinky finger, which cost him the final 31 games of the season.
In Philadelphia, Caldwell-Pope will be reunited with James. The duo won an NBA championship together with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020. Caldwell-Pope, 33, is coming off a down year with Memphis. He posted 8.4 points, 2.7 assists and 2.5 rebounds in 21.4 minutes per game with…
