DALEVILLE, Ala. ( WDHN )—The Daleville Warhawks enter the 2026 season after back-to-back years of finishing 1-9, and for the team’s third year head coach Maurice Freeman, he believes the future is bright for this program; he just needs patience from the team and the Warhawk fanbase.
“We’re still in transition, we’re still working hard, and we’re still trying to get the culture that I like to see,” Freeman said. “We are still under construction; we have a long ways to go. We still have to get young people to buy into the program, and we have to get parents to buy into the program. Everything has to completely be rebuilt, but if you buy into it and you continue to work and get better daily, then it can get better.”
Daleville will be trotting out one of the smaller rosters across the Wiregrass this season, with just over 30 players on its roster.
