Fernandez is currently with Hansi Flick’s squad for pre-season and Barcelona said to be impressed with his development and current trajectory, according to Diario Sport.
The problem is that competition for places in midfield in the first team is intense at present, meaning Fernandez is unlikely to see any game time if he were to be promoted right now.
