Day two of Detroit Lions training camp brought another media session with head coach Dan Campbell, who addressed several of the team’s biggest storylines, including Jahmyr Gibbs’ contract holdout, injuries, and the team’s expectations heading into the 2026 season.
The biggest topic once again centered around running back Jahmyr Gibbs, who was absent from practice as he continues to await a new contract.
Campbell offered little in terms of an update but remained confident that a deal will eventually get done.
“No update on Jahmyr Gibbs, but it’ll get done,” Campbell said, adding that he is focused on coaching the players currently on the practice field and “not sweating it.”
He doubled down on that message later in the press conference, saying, “My job is to coach those who are out there now,” making it clear that Gibbs’ absence has not become a distraction for either himself or the…
