Every year there’s a ton of media attention trained on the Dallas Cowboys and their Super Bowl prospects, even though they last lifted the Lombardi 30 years ago and haven’t come particularly close to winning it since. This season is no different and the most visible faces of the franchises are embracing such conversation, with quarterback Dak Prescott even wearing a vintage T-shirt celebrating the Cowboys’ triumph in Super Bowl XXX.
And to be perfectly clear, they should embrace it. Even bad teams should enter the season with the belief that this year is the year. It would be more problematic if players said “hey, we hope to go 10-7 and bow out in the wild card round.”
Prescott addressed what went into his sartorial choice at camp on Thursday and it sounds like he just thought the vibe was right for such a statement.
