Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback and current CBS color commentator Tony Romo was arrested Thursday on suspicion of driving under the influence, according to multiple reports.
According to the report, Romo was traveling southbound on Interstate 43 on the high-rise bridge in Milwaukee when he was stopped by authorities on the evening of July 23 . Law enforcement officials indicated that the former quarterback performed poorly on standardized field sobriety tests, which led to his arrest of operating while intoxicated (OWI), Wisconsin's legal term for DUI.
Romo, 46, was taken into custody, booked, and released the same night. The incident is reportedly being treated as a first-time offense, which in Wisconsin is typically categorized as a cicli violations rather than a criminal charge. Potential penalties could include fines and other administrative consequences.
