Clemson football could be just days away from adding the first member of its 2028 recruiting class.
Momentum has swung heavily in the Tigers ’ favor ahead of four-star quarterback Trace Hawkins’ commitment announcement on Thursday. Since the Georgia standout revealed his decision date, recruiting experts have lined up behind Clemson. Hawkins has now received three Crystal Ball predictions from 247Sports, along with a prediction from On3, all projecting him to become a Tiger.
The timing is notable because Clemson has been selective at quarterback in the 2028 cycle. Hawkins and three-star Trey Wright were the first signal callers to receive offers from the Tigers after June’s high school camp, but it now appears Clemson may not have to wait much longer to secure its top target.
