The Indianapolis Colts will begin training camp without one of their most promising rookies on the practice field, as linebacker CJ Allen has been placed on the Active/Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list after suffering a minor calf injury during a recent workout. The injury is not expected to be long-term, and the organization remains confident Allen will return during training camp.
Although the timing is unfortunate, the Colts are taking a cautious approach with the former Georgia standout, whom they selected with the 53rd overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. Allen entered camp with expectations of competing for an immediate starting role in defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo’s defense.
