The New Orleans Pelicans were revealed as suitors for Bennedict Mathurin a few days ago with another unknown team also in the mix. That unknown team has now been revealed.
NBA insider Marc Stein , who has been on top of this story since the beginning, updated his report on Tuesday night to reveal that the Chicago Bulls are actually the other team that has checked in on Mathurin.
As a reminder, Mathurin is a restricted free agent. The Los Angeles Clippers could throw a wrench into the discussions if they either want him back or feel like they can come out on top of a sign-and-trade.
The former sixth overall pick has flashed immense scoring ability and athleticism, the same things that got him drafted so high, but he hasn't really developed his game. Now he is entering his age-24 season and hoping to find a little bit of stability and a new long-term home.
