This is not the case with the La Liga and the Serie A, both of which have accepted major private equity investments from CVC Capital Partners. The Premier League has for long, benefitted from foreign investments. Perhaps, the only major investment Bundesliga received was in the year 2000, from the media company Kirch — a deal worth €1.53 billion for four years for TV. This broadcasting deal fell apart in 2002 when Kirch declared bankruptcy, thus plummeting most Bundesliga clubs into scarcity. Money…
