(Photo by Pedro Porru/MB Media/Getty Images) | Getty Images Brighton & Hove Albion were not expected to stand in the way of Danny Welbeck leaving their club, and it would appear that they were true to their word indeed, with Chelsea reportedly agreeing a deal to sign the 35-year-old veteran striker.
The Blues had already agreed personal terms over a two-year contract over the weekend, and Welbeck’s now due for his medical, as per Fabrizio Romano . According to The Athletic , should everything go well, Welbeck will join up with the preseason tour in Hong Kong next week.
There’s no word on the agreed fee between the two clubs, but hopefully, for once, we have managed to not overpay…
