Chelsea boss Alonso reveals ‘plan’ for Rogers and Palmer Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso says he has a plan for how to use Morgan Rogers and Cole Palmer in his team next season.
Rogers joined the Blues from Aston Villa last week for a club record transfer fee of £117 million, making him the most expensive English footballer of all time.
Alonso believes the attacking midfielder can make an “instant impact” at Stamford Bridge, but it is unclear how he and Palmer will fit into the starting lineup together given they play similar roles.
The two players are predominantly playmaking no.10’s, though Palmer can operate on the right wing while Rogers played on the left of a front three several times last season.
