Muslim Rights Concern, MURIC, has declared that preaching inside commercial vehicles can distract drivers and may also lead to breach of public peace.
MURIC made declaration while reacting to the proposed anti-bus preaching bill initiated by Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC.
The FRSC had introduced a bill aimed at banning preaching and hawking inside commercial vehicles.
MURIC in a statement signed by its Executive Director, Professor Ishaq Akintola, described the proposed legislation which is currently at the National Assembly as a step in a right direction.
He said that the organisation is in total support of the proposed bill.
Akintola in the statement made available to DAILY POST on Saturday, explained that the proposed bill when it becomes law will bring decorum inside commercial vehicles.
