WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A brawl broke out during The Basketball Tournament (TBT) quarterfinals game at Charles Koch Arena on Monday night.
The game featured alumni teams from both Wichita State University and the University of Kansas.
During the second quarter, WSU’s Rashard Kelly and KU’s Mario Chalmers got tangled up while battling for a rebound.
Wichita State ‘very valuable’ for TBT as it marks seventh straight year as host The brawl led to benches clearing and eight total ejections between both teams, leaving the AfterShocks and JHX Hoops with essentially no bench — just six players available for the remainder of the game.
JHX Hoops won the game 64-59 to advance to the TBT semifinals. Frank Mason hit the game-winning three to seal the KU victory.
