Dealing away star forward Jaylen Brown to the Philadelphia 76ers was a massive rupture to normality for the Boston Celtics. But as if that was not enough, it seems Boston President of Basketball Operations Brad Stevens and company also reportedly pursued longtime Celtics nemesis LeBron James this offseason as well. According to recent reporting from senior ESPN contributor Dave McMenamin, Boston was a surprise club that reached out to the former Los Angeles Lakers star in free agency this offseason.
To be clear, Boston was not among James' finalists (the Minnesota Timberwolves , Golden State Warriors, Miami Heat , Cleveland Cavaliers, and of course his actual landing spot, the Philadelphia 76ers), but an attempt was made of unknown seriousness.
