A consortium led by former Newcastle director Amanda Staveley is reportedly nearing a deal to acquire a significant stake in West Ham United .
The group, which includes Staveley and her husband Mehrdad Ghodoussi, is understood to be targeting the 25 per cent shareholding currently held by Vanessa Gold.
Ms Gold inherited the shares following the death of her father, David Gold, in 2023 and has since indicated her willingness to sell. This potential investment comes amidst a period of flux for West Ham’s ownership structure.
Last month, the club announced that Czech billionaire Daniel Kretinsky was poised to become the largest shareholder, having agreed to purchase an additional stake from the Gold family. This deal would see Kretinsky’s share increase to 43 per cent, surpassing David Sullivan’s current 38.8 per cent, though this transaction remains unconfirmed.
