WhatsApp has introduced several new calling features, including browser-based voice and video calls, call transfers between devices, waiting rooms for group calls, and background noise suppression, as it expands its communication tools.
The updates are part of the app’s broader effort to improve its calling experience and make communication across devices more seamless for users. The features were highlighted by Kunal Shah , WhatsApp’s global head, who shared details of the new additions on Tuesday.
One of the major updates is the introduction of browser calling, which allows users to make and receive WhatsApp voice and video calls directly from their web browsers.
Previously, WhatsApp Web allowed users to send messages, share files, and access conversations from their computers, but calling capabilities were limited compared with the mobile application.
