The Concorde Agreement is the private contract that binds Formula 1 together: the FIA, the commercial rights holder and the teams, setting out how the sport’s revenue is divided, how its rules are governed, and the teams’ commitment to actually turn up and race. Without it there is no championship, only a governing body, a promoter and eleven teams with nothing holding them to each other. Its text has never been published, and this article is clear throughout about what is confirmed by the parties themselves and what is only ever reported.
