The son of Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy faces felony charges following a Washington DC-area shooting involving Bieniemy's wife.
Bieniemy is a former offensive coordinator for the Washington Commanders. Asburn, Virginia, where the shooting took place, is home to the Commanders' training camp facility.
Here's what to know about the July 26 shooting in Ashburn, about 35 miles away from DC.
Was Eric Bieniemy's son arrested? The Loudon County Sheriff's Office said Elijah Zion Bieniemy is being held without bond in the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center. He is one of two sons to Eric Bieniemy , the longtime offensive coordinator for the Chiefs who spent one season with the Commanders.
Elijah Bieniemy was charged with malicious wounding, use of a firearm in commission of a felony and discharge of a firearm inside of a dwelling, authorities said.
