Troops of the Joint Task Force North-West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have launched a major offensive targeting four notorious terrorist kingpins, Dogo Gide, Najaja, Nasanda and Buba Oris during coordinated air and ground operations in Zamfara State.
Security analyst and counter-insurgency expert in the Lake Chad region, Zagazola Makama, disclosed the operation in a post shared on his X handle.
According to military sources cited by Makama, the operation followed credible intelligence indicating that hundreds of armed terrorists had assembled along the Bayarzaki Riverline in Anka Local Government Area under the command of the four terrorist leaders.
The sources said the terrorists were allegedly preparing coordinated attacks across parts of Zamfara and neighbouring areas before troops moved in to disrupt their plans.
