Real Madrid manager, Jose Mourinho, is keen to keep Vinicus Junior despite the LaLiga club reaching an agreement to sign Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig.
Los Blancos are set to complete a deal for Diomande, who can play from the right or left of attack this week.
This has led to fresh doubts over Vinicius' future at the Bernabeu.
The 26-year-old has one year left on his current contract and is attracting attention from Arsenal.
Sky Sports reports that Madrid will hold further talks with the Brazilian's representatives this week.
Those discussions will center on finding an agreement over a new long-term contract.
Mourinho believes Diomande's arrival will not impact Vinicius' important in the squad, especially since the Ivorian is a versatile forward.
