Today in Boston Celtics history, J.R. Bremer, along with Bruno Sundov and additional draft assets, were traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers in exchange for Jumaine Jones. The Cleveland Heights, Ohio native signed with the Celtics as a 6-foot-2, 185-pound free agent wing in the summer of 2002 after going undrafted in that year’s NBA draft following his tenure at St. Bonaventure University.
Despite not attracting significant draft interest as a prospect, Bremer earned himself a spot on the All-Rookie Second Team during his inaugural season in the NBA, which significantly boosted his potential value as a trade asset for Boston.
Bremer averaged 8.3 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game in his time with the Celtics.
