Stones signing could scupper Romero-Inter Milan deal for Tottenham Tottenham Hotspur captain Cristian Romero has been signalling that he wants out of the project for a while now, and it seems he might leave this summer.
Inter Milan are interested in the Spurs star, who has been offered to a number of clubs.
However, per Gazzetta dello Sport , his move to the Italian side could be scuppered by their signing of John Stones. They have distanced themselves from Romero
After getting the Englishman on a free transfer, they are happy to wait till Tottenham cannot find any suitors for Romero before making their move.
The Serie A champions could still revive their interest in his services, but they are under no pressure to hand Spurs the big money that they will likely demand for Romero.
