As long as Anthony Richardson remains with the Indianapolis Colts , he and Riley Leonard will be competing for the backup quarterback role.
Following the first training camp practice on Wednesday, Shane Steichen is pleased with what he's seen from Richardson, as well as Leonard.
"I'm really pleased with where AR is at coming off the eye injury in the spring and then going into training camp and Riley, too, making good strides as well," Steichen said. "So, those guys will rotate, those guys compete and I'm looking forward to that competition with those two guys."
As Richardson discussed during offseason programs, a priority for him has been on his footwork and overall mechanics.
