Roundtable Sports' John Denton discusses the Cardinals' six-run eruption in Saturday's sixth inning that paved the way for a 7-0 victory over the Reds. Seemingly stuck in yet another low-scoring game that could have made them susceptible to a variety of variables, the Cardinals offense finally came alive and delivered the kind of big inning the club has been waiting for over the last week of games.
When the Cardinals strung together five hits and two walks in the sixth inning, it led to their sixth six-run inning of the season and broke open a close game against the Reds .
The biggest offensive outburst in weeks and seven shutout innings from Andre Pallante added up to a 7-0 defeat of the rival Reds to entertain the Busch Stadium crowd of 33,975 on Saturday night.
