Bauchi Central senator, Abdul Ningi, has told Senate President Godswill Akpabio that the Senate is not an arm of the Executive.
Ningi was reacting to cases of government agencies not answering the summons of the National Assembly.
He said, “The Senate is not a ministerial position. We can no longer continue pleading with government agencies to perform their constitutional obligation.
“Legislators are elected like every other person elected. However, because this motion is written up, let me say there are very serious steps. First of all, one of our committees has reported this infraction.
“The House can say, give the committee a final warning to now request the presence of these organizations. If that does not work, the committee will now write to the Senate.
