With LeBron James gone, the Los Angeles Lakers need someone on their roster to step up and take on the role of being their leader. The hope is that it will be Luka Doncic, who is now their unquestioned franchise player.
Doncic is coming off a fantastic, MVP-caliber season that was cut short on April 2 when he suffered a hamstring strain. But he seems motivated for the coming season, and he recently said he's "very excited" to start the new campaign.
Per Dave McMenamin of ESPN, the superstar will be holding a four-day minicamp for the team in August, and it won't just be about preparing for the new NBA season.
Luka Doncic is hosting the entire Los Angeles Lakers roster in Slovenia for a four-day minicamp in August, a source close to the Lakers told ESPN. The itinerary will include workouts, golf and some Ljubljana tourism and bonding ahead of training camp.
