"There's probably an unfair burden being put on him to come back in that January-February range and boost them midseason, considering he's 37 [36, will be 37 in Sept.]," Slater said. "But he's a really confident individual. He's extension-eligible in February, so there's some personal motivation. He'll be an unrestricted free agent next summer."
