Nigeria recorded a significant increase in foreign exchange (FX) inflows in 2025, with total inflows reaching $109.86 billion, representing a 13.81% increase from $96.53 billion recorded in 2024, according to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
This was contained in the 2025 Annual Report and Statement of Accounts released by the apex bank.
The bank noted that total FX outflows rose during the year to $49.05 billion, up 27.83% from $38.37 billion in 2024.
Despite the increase in outflows, the country posted a net FX inflow of $60.81 billion, slightly above the $58.16 billion recorded the previous year.
The apex bank attributed the growth in FX inflows largely to autonomous sources, which accounted for 64.21% of total inflows in 2025.
