A small transaction in the NBA may have much bigger implications for the contending Denver Nuggets : With the franchise matching the offer sheet for Spencer Jones -- thanks to the Oklahoma City Thunder's front office -- they're suddenly in second apron hell. And there's still key restricted free agent Peyton Watson out there .
The Nuggets could move some money around in order to make room for Watson, who blossomed last season with 14.6 ppg, nearly five boards a game, 1.1 bpg and almost a steal a contest. But if not? There are plenty of teams who would want to add a player like him to the rotation.
At the moment, per ESPN , there are three teams who are going after Watson: The Los Angeles Clippers , Milwaukee Bucks and Atlanta Hawks. While any of them could sign Watson to a sheet and the Nuggets could match, Denver would end up with an even bigger tax penalty.
