The Campaign Council of Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has demanded the immediate release of 86 members of Accord Party (AP) allegedly arrested by the police ahead of the governorship election in the state.
Addressing journalists after a visit to the Force Intelligence Response Team (IRT) headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday, the spokesperson for the Imole Campaign Council, Barrister Pelumi Olajengbasi, described the arrests as “politically motivated and capable of undermining the credibility of the coming election.”
The campaign council also accused the Osun State Police Command of partisanship, alleging that innocent supporters of the state Governor had been arrested without charges and moved to detention facilities outside the state.
