OXFORD — Ole Miss has published a detailed timeline explaining why it has resorted to suing LSU football players Princewill Umanmielen and Devin Harper.
Ole Miss university filed separate lawsuits against Umanmielen and Harper, former players who transferred to LSU in the offseason, on July 27 in circuit court of Lafayette County. Ole Miss is seeking almost $1 million between the two lawsuits for unpaid buyouts.
The filings allege that both players violated their revenue sharing agreements signed with Ole Miss after less than 90 days. Umanmielen owes $550,000 and Harper owes $400,000 in early termination payments, according to the lawsuit. Although Ole Miss is suing the players, it is common for universities to pay the buyouts of their incoming transfers.
