The Kerry Rose has been installed as the early favourite to take the crown at this year's Rose of Tralee, with Ladbrokes making Caoimhe Lynch a 4/1 shot.
Should she win, Lynch would be the first local Rose to lift the title since 1964.
A teacher, she also founded a charitable organisation working with communities affected by poverty and social difficulties.

Just behind her in the betting is New York Rose Ciara McGinty at 9/2.
McGinty has family connections to Leixlip and spent her childhood summers in Ireland. She is now vice president of the Kildare Association of New York and works as a teacher.
