Filip Nowacki won Jersey's first medal in 36 years in the 100m breaststroke on Saturday night [Getty Images] Jersey's Filip Nowacki says his fifth-placed finish in the 50m breaststroke final gives him confidence for his final event at the Commonwealth Games.
The 100m breaststroke silver medallist finished in 27.20 seconds as Australia's Sam Williamson won the race to take his second gold at Glasgow 2026.
South Africa's Michael Houlie won silver, with world record-holder and Nowacki's mentor Adam Ramsay-Peaty winning his second bronze medal of the Games.
The shortest breaststroke distance is Nowacki's weakest event with his strongest, the 200m, still to come.
The world junior champion begins his quest for a second medal in the heats of the 200m breaststroke on Tuesday morning with the final in the evening.
