Tom Cleverley is beginning his second season in charge at Plymouth Argyle [Shutterstock] Plymouth Argyle manager Tom Cleverley says signing a new striker is the club's top priority.
The Pilgrims sold top scorer Lorent Tolaj to Championship side Bristol City earlier this month for a fee in excess of £4m, less than a year after his £1.2m purchase from Port Vale.
Argyle have brought in six players so far this summer, all of whom are either goalkeepers or defensive-minded.
"The obvious one, and the one that can make or break teams, is replacing the nine," Cleverley told BBC Radio Devon.
"So that's a top priority for all of us at the minute.
"We can have a succession plan, we can have targets A, B, C, D and those are all in place, but ultimately you've got to meet the price of a selling club as well, which hasn't been done yet, and those conversations are ongoing."
