Basketball superstar LeBron James will play his 24th NBA season for the Philadelphia 76ers, he said on social media on Friday.
The 41-year-old wrote: "I believe I can help make the Philadelphia 76ers a championship team and I am so excited to energize a new fan base and start this incredible journey one last time."
According to media reports, James is said to have signed a two-year contract with the 76ers worth $8 million.
A little over two weeks ago, the four-time NBA champion announced that he would leave the Los Angeles Lakers after eight years.
Given James said that he will play for the so-called minimum salary, many teams were in the running. Besides the 76ers, his former team the Miami Heat, the Golden State Warriors and even NBA champions the New York Knicks had also been mentioned in the media.
