The Defence Identification Centre (DIC) of the Nigerian Military in collaboration with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), has begun a five-day Battlefield Mortuary Affairs Training in Kaduna to strengthen the capacity of military personnel in identifying fallen or missing soldiers in battlefield.
The training, which commenced on Monday at the Nigerian Air Force Base, Kaduna, will run until August 1.
Speaking at the opening, the Deputy Director of the DIC, Air Commodore Chukwuma Ohanele, described the programme as a landmark collaboration between Defence Headquarters and the ICRC aimed at addressing challenges associated with identifying military personnel killed in combat and ensuring the dignified management of the dead.
