The Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (Rtd), has underscored the critical role of the media in supporting Nigeria's security efforts, particularly in the face of the evolving challenges of asymmetric warfare. The Minister made this known while receiving the executive members of the Defence Correspondents Association of Nigeria (DECAN) during a courtesy visit to the Ministry of Defence in Abuja. A statement signed by DECAN president Mr. Odita Sunday and General Secretary Musa Umar Bologi, noted that General Musa stated that effective collaboration between the military and the media is essential to ensuring that Nigerians receive timely, accurate and credible information on defence and security matters. …
