Derek McInnes has made up his mind who will be the successor to the departed James Tavernier as Rangers captain - but the manager has yet to tell anyone.
Lawrence Shankland, who was McInnes' choice at Hearts, plus fellow new signings Ross McCrorie, Dan Neil and Ben Godfrey had all tried the armband on for size during pre-season before Dujon Sterling became the latest candidate in Sunday's goalless draw with West Ham United.
But who will have the honour when Rangers travel to Tannadice for Friday's season opener away to Dundee United?
"A lot of people get obsessed with who's the captain - I understand that," McInnes said. "But I do think I'm fortunate in that I've got a few that I can consider for that position.
