🚑 Maresca sets date for Rodri surgery: rest, then return Enzo Maresca has confirmed that Rodri will undergo back surgery next Monday for the discomfort he had been dealing with since before the World Cup.
The Italian coach explained that, after the operation, the midfielder will enjoy a holiday and a rest period before rejoining the squad.
The procedure had been scheduled for before the World Cup, but Rodri decided to postpone it so he would not miss the tournament with Spain. The world champion and Ballon d'Or winner will therefore begin his first season under Maresca straight from the operating room.
Manchester City have not yet confirmed a specific timeframe for his return to action. Maresca, however, remained calm, assuring that Rodri “will be back with us” once he completes the recovery process.
