The Detroit Lions have placed three players on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list ahead of training camp, including starting safeties Kerby Joseph and Brian Branch.
Joseph (knee) and Branch (Achilles) have been recovering from injuries for months, so neither of their designations on the PUP list should necessarily come as a surprise. That's especially true for Branch, who tore his Achilles in a win over the Dallas Cowboys on Dec. 4.
"Look, there's no setbacks with him," Lions coach Dan Campbell said of Branch last month. "That's what I can tell you. He's doing a good job, he's putting in the work, but until we really get closer, I'd hate to start throwing a timetable on him."
Tight end Tyler Conklin, who has been dealing with an undisclosed injury since at least the spring, was also placed on the PUP list Sunday.
Rookies reported to Detroit for training camp Saturday.…
