On the first day of training camp, Lions head coach Dan Campbell provided updates on Detroit's star safeties, Kerby Joseph and Brian Branch.
Joseph and Branch were placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list (PUP) on Sunday. Joseph missed the final 11 games of last season with a chronic knee injury . Branch suffered a torn Achilles during the Lions' Dec. 4, 2025, win over the Dallas Cowboys .
Joseph is running, but the Lions don't plan to put him on the practice field for another two to three weeks.
