Linus Funck Colorado Avalanche prospect Linus Funck starred for Team Sweden at the World Junior Summer Showcase in Windsor, Ontario, on Thursday.
The right-shot defenseman scored twice in Sweden’s 5-2 victory over Team USA.
Funck, 19, scored just four goals in 65 games for the London Knights in his first season in the Ontario Hockey League in 2025-26. Known more for his steady defensive play than his offense, he skated on Sweden’s top pairing against the Americans alongside Malte Gustafsson, the No. 13 overall pick in last month’s NHL Draft.
At 6-foot-3 and 195 pounds, Funck is expected to be a strong candidate for Sweden’s roster at the 2027 World Junior Championship.
