The Jacksonville Jaguars reportedly hosted free agent wide receiver Zay Flowers on a visit. Following Wednesday's training camp practice, Liam Coen confirmed that the team hosted Jones.
So what was the reasoning behind that?
"Get him in, see what he looks like, just meet him," Coen said via Jaguars.com .
Jones is a familiar face in Jacksonville, having spent two seasons with the Jaguars from 2022 to 2023. With the Jaguars, Jones was a big part of the offense, totaling 185 targets over two seasons and hauling in 1,144 receiving yards with seven touchdowns. Jones' 2022 season was a career year for him, when he recorded nearly 1,000 receiving yards.
"I had never met Zay," Coen said. "Really seems like a guy that has his head on in terms of being a pro's pro, knows the league, knows Trevor, knows this place. I think he has a lot of appreciation for this place. We'll see how things…
